Have heard all types of rumors and opinions on which high profile pop culture or political celebrities will be attending this years burning man. I have had a really tough time accounting for my cynical nature that is concerned about the mainstreaming of burner culture vs my burnery welcoming radical inclusion nature. I Have come to the following conclusion.... Message to all high profile individuals coming to burning man for the very first time. (And to those pulling them into the burn) Welcome! Its going to be amazing! I want to see you there and I hope it changes your life! Especially those of you who probably represent parts of culture that have, through modern media, come to represent the opposite of what many burning man values are all about! Welcome welcome welcome! But!!! Please, respect the culture! Respect the values of the community! Acculturate yourselves!!!! Embrace the principles. This is not like everything else in the life that u have lead! There is something special going on here and we would love you to have the catharsis to be a part of it too! This is not just another spectacle for you to come and impose your approach to life. Rather, this is an opportunity for you to transcend, and have a truly eye opening experience. I welcome u! But recognize what a gift u are being given here, and what a responsibility u have to this community that wants to share this gift with you and will welcome u!! As a high profile celebrity, you might possibly have some influence on the future of this beautiful tribe and cultural movement! Honor this gift by embracing the values that have made every other burner embrace this different approach to viewing life. I will fight for your right to be part of this, even against those who have grown more cynical, but in turn, truly do burning man the honor of looking at the special thing that is happening around you, and participate in the magic, it will change u, people will see this, and u will strengthen the message that those that have come before you, want to spread.
