Have we ever considered the possibility that the gospel we - TopicsExpress

Have we ever considered the possibility that the gospel we generally practice might have missed the clear intent of scripture? The current manifestation of Christianity and what is considered to be apostolic and prophetic ministries, leaves much to be desired. In spite of our ‘great’ conferences, ‘great’ ministries, gospel music, films, literature, and what else constitute contemporary Christianity; very few saints can be said to have been properly equipped for ministry. And therefore the body of Christ are not yet properly built-up to achieve the scriptural aims and objectives (Eph 4v11-12). I was part of the original group of men who have considered the relevancy of fivefold ministry for the modern church. That original group were men of high calibre and was constituted non-racially during the height of apartheid. The original intent was for those in fivefold ministry to pioneer a non-racial church to bring glory to God in the midst of apartheid. What we have currently has to be considered a Christian malpractice since it does not respond correctly to scriptural intent. If saints are not equipped for ministry and are mere spectators and admirers Sunday mornings, we are definitely missing the boat, since the body of Christ are not built-up only by what is commonly considered to be good preaching, but by saints equipped for ministry. Have a nice day
