Have you ever been driving down the road and you see a speed limit sign? Im sure we all have. But what did you do when you saw that sign? If we were honest many of us continued going the speed we were going, even if we were going over the speed limit, true? But then you either see blue lights or a police car and even if you arent speeding you hit that brake just to be assured everything is okay. Now if you see those blue lights and they continue to follow you and want you to pull over, then it is too late, youve been caught. As I thought about this, I thought about Gods Word and this world. We are warned time and time again, but sometimes we dont heed the signs. Sometimes in life we see how close to the world we can get without getting caught. But in Matthew 24:3-14 Jesus talks to His disciples about the end of time. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the SIGN of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. We are seeing this being fulfilled right before our eyes. So I ask you, are you taking heed of these SIGNS before it is too late and you are left behind? You might be saying, Ive heard this all my life. Yes I have too, but never have I seen these signs so prominent in my life time being fulfilled. So I encourage you to consider the signs of the last days and if you dont have a home church or you are attending a church where the gospel is watered down and not teaching the salvation message, join us here at the Upper Room Church where Pastor Roy Scates is ministering the Word of God and challenging us to make changes in our lives to draw closer to God so that we arent left behind.
