Have you ever heard of an ALASKAN KLEE KAI? Chocola is a member of this extremely rare breed that originated in Alaska by combining huskies with American Eskimo dogs. According to Wikipedia, Alaskan Klee Kais are “energetic, intelligent, apartment-sized dogs.” Even Wikipedia thinks Chocola would fit nicely in an NYC apartment! Chocola’s previous owner barely gave him a chance. The family brought him back to the shelter after 4 days, saying he was too exuberant. We’d agree that Chocola is brilliant. His disposition checks out beautifully, putting him in the “Keeper” column. Just look at that smile and the pink bunny ears on this 1-year-old male. Chocola tests just a tad submissively. We’re perplexed that his previous owners used the word “growl” several times in his bio because we’ve witnessed no such disposition. Could it be that they interpreted anxious grunts as a growl? Chocola likes other people, kids, other dogs and even cats. It would be tragic if this rare specimen were to lose his life tomorrow for want of a New York home.
