Have you ever heard of “vitamin U”? It is not really a vitamin, but is an old fashioned term for what we now know is methylmethionine. Cabbage is a naturally occurring source of vitamin U. Several studies done way back in the 1950’s showed that cabbage juice could heal ulcers in the stomach in 22 days. A study in 1996 showed methylmethionine to be helpful in healing ulcers in ulcerative colitis. Doctors at Geneva Chiropractic regularly use a supplement that contains vitamin U and other gut healing nutrients, as part of a treatment protocol for ulcers, gastritis, reflux, colitis, etc.
