Have you ever noticed what most children do at Easter Egg Hunts? Imagine if you will, all the children are lined up or in their starting position and someone says: ok, its almost time...Im going to count to three: 1, 2, 3 and they usually take off running. A few of the girls, may skip off. Its been my observation that they run or skip past plenty of eggs, right there in the place they were in. If they had only stopped, looked down and around, they would have noticed that plenty of eggs, (enough to make them the winner) were right there, within reach. Have you ever seen the poor child, who gives up and stops running or searching, because he thinks everyone has more eggs in their basket than he does? My observations have brought me to this: We convince ourselves that the things that we need or want are far away. We kill the dreams of what we really desire, because someone says: thats somewhere in the distance and the plans that we have or create, we make unattainable because we slow down or worse---come to a complete stop, because you thought you saw someone run by you with more...Weve got to stop discounting and minimizing where we are. You are closer than you think. Looking around at what someone else has, and skipping over what you know is in YOU, is a set up to never win. You are enough. And just by chance, that big one, that special one that youve been wishing for, and waiting to catch year after year, is a little farther from where you are. Dont fret, the odds of you eventually winning increases as time goes on, but you never will get it if you stop running and drop out the hunt, altogether. Keep telling yourself: If I just keep going, the golden egg, the prize, will not just be within my reach---but it will be mine.
