The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is currently hiring for the position of Law Enforcement Deputy Trainee (Sponsorship to Academy) and Community Service Aide 1. The Community Service Aide (C.S.A.) Program has been established as a means of assisting the citizens of Lee County, while enabling certified patrol deputies to be more visible and proactive in their law enforcement duties. C.S.A. units can investigate past occurred, non-violent crimes and other calls for service not requiring arrest powers or involving any high risk. You must be 18 years of age to qualify as a Community Service Aide. The Law Enforcement Deputy Trainee position involves law enforcement protecting the public and preserving the peace, and serving in any of a variety of assignments in the Sheriffs Office. As a Deputy Sheriff, you need to interpret and enforce all applicable federal, state and local laws, general orders, directives, and policies and procedures of the Sheriffs Office. Deputy Sheriff Trainees will be employed by the Lee County Sheriffs Office and sponsored to a Basic Recruit Training Program held at the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy in Fort Myers Florida. You must be 21 years of age to qualify as a Law Enforcement Officer (if 20 you must turn 21 before completing the Academy).
