Have you heard? Tilikum Crossing, the region’s newest bridge, will be included in Providence Bridge Pedal 2015! The first public bike and pedestrian crossing of this unique bridge will occur on Providence Bridge Pedal’s 20th Anniversary, August 9, 2015. And, following the event in the morning, TriMet will host a midday event for the public to walk and bike over Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People! bit.ly/1kb5wNq After these August 9 events, the bridge will then close again to public access until the Sept. 12, 2015, Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project opening. Closure allows for safe training of all bus, light rail and streetcar operators in entering, crossing and exiting the bridge to resume prior to the light rail extension opening. Details will follow as planning for Bridge Pedal 2015 gets under way next spring.
