Have you seen kids pretending to be super heros like Superman and Spider-man? It is fun watching them doing so, as long as they dont jump out of the windows to prove their super powers. In the same way, parents can learn something about pretending. The brain is an interesting machine which can be programmed. If your children start misbehaving and you are out of clues on what to do, imagine you are the worlds best teacher. Then think calmly on what this best teacher can do, and you will achieve something. Researchers have done an experiment where a pianoist is asked to pracise on a new piece of music on the piano. Another person is asked to think he is the greatest pianoist in the world, and he looks at the music sheet but without the piano. The result is that both play well after 30 minutes. The brain cannot detect real and virtual reality. Start and reprogram your brain today. (I am telling myself I am a great writer e.g. Agatha Christie and I tell myself I can write.)
