Have you seen our video Breadfruit - A Tree of Importance to Hawaii. It covers breadfruit`s relevance to Hawaii and its connections to other Pacific island cultures, especially Tahiti, Samoa, and Micronesia. Also covered is breadfruit`s value for food security as a delicious and nutritious food; the tree`s aesthetic contribution to urban landscapes; and the work of the Breadfruit Institute to promote the conservation and use of breadfruit for food and reforestation. This information is relevant to many tropical nations where breadfruit has the potential to play an important role in alleviating hunger, supporting sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, reforestation, and economic development.
