Having A Seared Conscience, A Characteristic Of Narcissists And Psychopaths 1 Tim 4:1-3 - Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. On a physical level, when a person gets burned in one area badly, the nerves become damaged and they lose feeling there. This type of thing also happens when a person continues to sin and keeps sinning and trying to justify it. Their conscience develops nerve damage and no longer feels the guilt of their sins. This happens to Narcissists and Psychopaths. Here are some characteristics of Narcissists and Psychopaths: 1. Unrepentant towards sin. They will even deny their sin and hurt those who expose their sins. 2. They have a way with people and often have a very good reputation. They present themselves as being Christians very well. They can talk the Christian talk, and often have their way with churches and church leaders. Sometimes they even become leaders themselves. They will even deceive church leaders with their lies and get the leaders to side with them. 3. They will do what they can to destroy those who oppose their views or expose their sins by slandering, gossiping, and lying about them. They will also use scriptures out of context to try to persuade you to see things their way. They have the attitude of Its my way or the highway. 4. They will not accept the truth, but will lead many to believe their lies. They will also use scriptures out of context to support their lies and deceive many. 5. They are lovers of themselves, boastful and proud. (They think that are always right and can never accept their wrongs). They may do things that are helpful to others, but only if they get some kind of benefit themselves from it. They may use it on you as a means of manipulation and control and may use the line see how I have helped you, you should at least do this for me! In the end, they will get a lot more from you than what they gave you. They may also use the help they gave you to persuade you into thinking and feeling what they want you to think and feel, then if you dont, then they will use it as a means of making you feel guilty. Does this look familiar when you read 1 Timothy 3:1-5 - But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such turn away! ? It seems to me that Narcissists and Psychopaths fit this description very well. These are the kind of people who are wolves in sheeps clothing. By their fruits, you will recognize them. See Matt 7:15-16 - Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Matt 7:22-23 - Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! James 2:19 - You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe -- and tremble! Read the full context of Matt 7:15-23. Bear in mind that these scriptures fit more than just Narcissists and Psychopaths. They fit false prophets, false teachers and all who practice lawlessness. Keep watch for these types of people, they are not on your side. They will devour those who speak the truth, they will try to devour those who truly follow Jesus. Stay away from people like these, they are poison. For those who are church leaders, keep such people out so they dont infect the church. Good churches have been destroyed by people like these. Keep your guards up, I will pray for discernment for you. We live in perilous times. We must guard ourselves at all times. Keep in prayer and never stray from the Bible. I will be praying for you.
