Having been in front of hundreds of judges over the years, and also worn the black robe myself as a judge pro tem for eleven years in Alameda County, I think this judge showed excellent composure and restraint for only sentencing the defendant to 60 days the second time. Funny thing, I have been in front of at least three judges by that same name! I dont know in which state this hearing was located, but it doesnt appear to be California. What the public at large may not realize is that the judge appears to have followed certain proper procedural steps but I am not sure about the complete procedures required for summary contempt in that state. The Defendant had an attorney but the attorney never spoke up for his client, which could have saved his client some jail time.
