Having good manners and having utmost respect for the people around us is the cornerstone of our faith. Its more than just a few words here and there, but it is essentially how we are living our life and how we are perceived and interact with others. Good manners should be embedded into our life as a strong foundation if we want to be successful in this life and the next. Maintaining good healthy relations with others (which should transcends faiths) should become one of our main priorities. The most beloved of Allah’s servants to Allah are those with the best manners. (Al-Bukhari) Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than ones good manners. (Al-Bukhari) It is clearly evident from the above hadith the importance the Nabi saw placed on this subject. Our Nabi saw has summarised the goal of his entire message into the perfection of the best of manners. Examples of this can be as simple as respect to parents/neighbours, honesty, generosity, friendship or even smiling. May Allah swt guide us all and only take us when He is pleased with us. Ameen
