Having lunch after receiving some well, devastating news in regard to my moms health situation. The surgeon (who we love, thank you, Pat Fletcher for the referral). Mom has two hernias. The one down below in her lower abdomen is so large that basically her intestines are outside the abdominal cavity. The other hiatal hernia was caused because all her organs have moved up which caused her stomach to fall into that hernia. Surgery (~12 hours) is her only hope, albeit VERY risky. He normally recommends doing the surgeries separately, but in moms case, he thinks we should do it all at once (we agree) for various factors. So, we need to go see a plastic surgeon next bc he will partner with Dr Kalan to help move the parts back where they belong and reconstruct her lose skin that the massive hernia in the lower abdomen has caused. So, thats all for now. Were going to enjoy our nice lunch in the city. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!
