He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might - TopicsExpress

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (1 Peter 2:24). He came into the sinners world. Himself sinless, He took our nature. He lived the ordinary life of a man. He worked in the carpenters shed; attended wedding festivals and heart-rending funerals; ate, drank, and slept. He sailed in the boat of His fisher-friends. He sympathized with the sinners griefs. In their affliction He was afflicted. He often groaned and sighed and wept. He died the sinners death. He was treated as the scapegoat, the sin-offering of the human family. He stood as our substitute, sacrifice, and satisfaction. He carried the guilt and curse and penalty of a broken law in His suffering body. He is preparing the sinners home. I go to prepare a place for you. No mother was more intent on preparing a room for her boys return, than Jesus on preparing heaven for His own. ~ Walk with F. B. Meyer, That we might dwell with Him, Closer Walk
