He paused, fronted with many choices with only one that is clear, “He concocted this chaos only to run away? He’s waiting for someone. I guess I’ll have to do.” “Pogoho…!” Diedra realized by now that he was not one for following orders the way that they were meant to be, so she reluctantly turned away, hoping that something positive might come from his chase. She immediately ran back to the EMTs that were carting Charles to their ambulance. “I’m riding with him.” One of them halted her approach, “I’m sorry ma’am, but there is already a contamination protocol with this one. We have to get him to the ER immediately.” “But…, Charles…!” The ambulance closed up as fast as it sped off, surely to a transport shuttle to Hebralio. She saw that Robyn was about to be loaded in another ambulance. They allowed her to ride in there if Diedra would also receive attention. Pogoho looked back at the destruction and all of the “what ifs” plaguing him. He threw the door open. The darkness felt exceptionally gripping, but even the remnants of Quiz Show’s costume could be seen. “Is he… really waiting…?” He almost didn’t want to find out, but an unusual glimmer caught his eye. He slowly climbed the stairs and reached the source, five floors up. It was a luminescent paint, Charles’ paint; an arrow to be precise. He knew it was a taunt, but he had to continue. The arrows repeated over and over until the 30th floor. A new message awaited him: Pop Quiz. The last floors added more of Quiz Show’s mock suspense: How do you know…, the 32nd, what is really right…, the 33rd, from what is so…, and the 34th, pleasurably wrong? He reached the 35th floor before walking to the roof access. Surely it would have been booby-trapped, but Quiz Show wanted this confrontation. No more hindrances, no more games, it was time.
