He touched on so many things. The others day my mother (who is white as u know) & I were talking & she said that she believes that the reason that there r so many fatherless black homes is from generations of the black men being pulled away from the family forcefully. & I agree. This was not the case when we were in Africa , the man was present and dominant in the family structure. Slavery separated husbands from wives & children time & time again. Fathers would be separated from their family & sold 2 new masters leaving the mother 2 raise the children alone. So the black woman was strong and did what she had to do but not because the black man was weak. The white man knew he was strong & cared 4 his family. This is 1 way of trying 2 keep him down, separate him from what he loves & cherishes, his family. But somewhere we got lost along the way & the lack of the black fathers presence in families became acceptable. It is a generational curse & we do not acknowledge the fact that originally when the black father wasnt in the family his removal WAS NOT by choice.
