He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. (1 Corinthians 1:8-9) Following God for a month, a year or a decade is good. But the hallmark of a fully devoted follower of Christ is someone who stays with Him for a whole lifetime. The phrase “keep you strong” carries with it the idea that as you make a life-long commitment to walk with the Lord, it is He that will keep you strong. He doesn’t leave us out here to walk this road alone; He gives us the stuff that we need, one day at a time. Much like other relationships, the harder we work at them, the better they get and the more energy they build. Put faithfulness into the bank of life today and God will add to it the strength you need for tomorrow.
