INTE-766015 Description The intern will gain practical experience in the Care of the Elderly,The mobilisation of Residents including, assisting the nursing staff to turn and re-position using the appropriate aid, i.e. Hoist, sliding sheets etc. Resident Moving and Handling. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following; Assisting residents with their needs, reporting to Nurse on charge, Assisting residents with their hygiene needs,helping those who need help at meal times,skills on how to control and prevent the spread of infection, team working skills and working on your own initiative. On completion the intern will have attained skills in; communications skills, listening skills, good work practices, team working skills and working on their own initiative. General care of the elderly. Skills Requirements Have to be Interested in caring for the elderly Please Note: This is an Internship. An allowance of €50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment.See eligibility criteria above.
