Hear, O Israel, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, for the Lord your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory. Deuteronomy 20:3 & 4 Moms surgery is set. She will have a double mastectomy with reconstruction surgery on Wednesday, October 8th. I read this passage this morning & was struck by the truth... Do not fear, panic or be in dread... Why?!? Because God is with you! Our confidence is not in an incredible team of surgeons (but thankfully we do have an awesome team), or in that she will be all better really fast (although we pray she will be), or that this will be the last fight with cancer (because it very well may not be)... Our confidence is in Christ alone, that He is enough, will provide no matter what, that this is His plan & He is Sovereign over all & His love for us with never fail! Your prayers will be most appreciated. Prayers for mom, the team of surgeons, those that will care for her, our family as we work to meet the needs she will have, for safety, healing & a complete recovery! The logistics of all this can see overwhelming, but He hasnt abandoned us & never will! So very Amen...
