Heard about the Northside? How about living in the heart of it? Physically between Brunswick, Gertrude and Smith st to the metre? Lovely freestanding 2.5 storey brick home in Fitzroy. The house is circa 1880s - its not modern - its got character and was built by the original Fitzroy timber merchant which explains the kitchen, beautiful banisters and woodwork. This home is a hundred years old and its winter in Melbourne - its not warm. Which is great for summer, but a bit crappy for winter. But wait! Thats we have heaters, one in your room, one in the study, one to go in the front room and if it bothers you we can stick one in the kitchen. Personally Im a bit of a save the planet kind of hippy so I just put thermals on and a jumper and go about my day without chewing through coal downstream, plus I dont like giving Energy Australia lots of dosh. Maybe you do? The benefit comes in summer when everyone is dying of the heat and the house is nice and cool. You may have to wait around to experience that. You could cook up a storm in one of the most homely and beautiful kitchens you are likely to find. You can sit in the backyard staring up at the gum trees in the swing chair, reading a book near the chiminea surrounded by fairy lights. SO - your room is on the first landing, the huge bathroom is on the next landing along with the upstairs bedroom which is the space Ive been occupying for a few years now. We painted the bathroom recently, check it out the video. The house has high speed ADSL2+ via Iinet so anything you need to watch you can download, 200 gig or so per month limit if you need it + free calls to land lines locally and nationally via VOIP. The house is fully furnished besides a TV and any furnishings for your room. You can throw away the car and cycle or PT everywhere - or park it outside the roller door with a permit. Stepping outside the house, you can get your Yoga and Kirtan - do a free meditation course at Brahma Kumaris on Brunswick st, wake up to a lovely sing with Siddha Yoga on Sundays - do Bikram, whirl around at 5 Rhythms, pay $9 a week for all the gym and classes you can handle at time4fitness.au/, dig your way around why the place has a walkscore of 98 out of 100 - walkscore/score/webb-street-fitzroy - Im sure you are getting it..
