Heartbroken and so damn angry at WHHTs flagrant medical negligence, after so many opportunities to do the right and humane thing. They had no right to refuse treatment, dictate high risk pharmaceutical alternatives to a simple IV saline/potassium and glucose drip. Its not why we pay taxes to have #holierandhigherthanthou make decisions about our options, treatment and care that forces us to undergo extreme and unnecessary life changing actions, because of their own personal judgemental beliefs. This was not a cost saving exercise, it was a simple battle of wills, and direct discrimination against a woman who was dying and at the height of vulnerability. What point is any patients charter if NHS Trusts are still happy to risk our lives? Why else would we (Mel Morris and hubs) call our daughter, our miracle baby after seven HG angels had died before her; Charlotte? Has Charlotte Brontës life and death meant nothing to the medical community in regards to HG? Clearly not! Man on the moon but they cant stop dehydration in the UK, out of a combination of laziness and spite. May they [staff involved in fettering this case] experience this pain and harrowing heartache at loosing a child, threefold. Yes, WHHT are following #sanctuality posts due to this horrendous case that their staff have caused and yes a formal complaint from Sanctuality for the way they treated me as a professional involved in this poor womans easily resolvable case, will be lodged this week. Our Deepest sympathies are with This lady and her family. Im truly so very sorry I could not have helped or supported you more. You didnt ask for much, just understanding.xxxx
