Heather Tompkins: Hello there, I had a few questions I was wondering if you might be able to help me with. First one is… have you or anyone you’ve known ever gotten hired while still in school, like a semester or maybe two before graduating. I’m starting my third semester of a 2 year degree and I’d love to get in the field soon if I can. I have a hospital I’d like to work, its not the same as the hospital my clinicals are at though, so I’d like to get my foot in the door before I graduate if I can. My program is accredited and I will take my certification exam right upon graduation. All of the jobs I’ve seen posted thus far ask for graduation with certification preferred. Is there a way to work as a student like say, RN student’s sometime do? I know a surgeon at the hospital I’d like to work… do you think that would be of any help? Second question: is there a way to observe/shadow at hospital before going to work there? Thanks so much for your help, Heather
