Heavens Perspective Changes Things: I just received this great and honest testimony of competition, fear and increase at work... The newest neighbor of our coffee shop is another coffee shop. Over the course of a few days after I heard this news, I had three major thoughts: 1) Fear: I was afraid we would have to close our doors. To be honest, our coffee shop is still in a development phase. But God reminded me of (1 Tim 1:7) 2) Competitive advantage: I started dreaming of all the ways we could beat them with our superior products, customer service and market space (Deut 20:1-4). 3) Blessing: God reminded me that when the city is blessed, we prosper (Jer 29:7). Since shifting to the 3rd step in my thinking, our coffee shop has had two days where all our seats have been full. God wants us to be a blessing to our community, and sometimes, that even includes our enemies and competitors.
