Hell to the no! If a teacher or administrator ever did something like this to my child, a lawsuit would be the last thing they would have to worry about. I will gladly spend time in jail to correct such a horrific problem and to protect my son. You can count on it. This is not how you handle a situation like this. If a student is not participating as they should, you send them to the office and let the principle deal with it in a more structured manner.
