Thank you Job Description •Maintaining and ensuring system integrity of 18 AS/400 (iSeries) Lpars including but not limited to: handling system errors, performing backups to tape BRMS, monitoring to ensure systems running problem-free and at top performance levels. •Escalating issues when needed and coordinating appropriate support people. •HMC knowledge •Running and overseeing critical financial job processes. •Managing critical backup media for off-site storage. •Managing critical backup media for daily use. •Documentation creation and document updating. •Printing large quantities of invoices, etc. for company mailing. •Initiates’ operating processes and observes peripheral equipment for error messages displayed on monitor or terminal to detect faulty output or machine stoppage and reports to either Applications, System Engineering or LAN/WAN departments for timely resolution. •Loads peripheral equipment such as tape drives and printers with magnetic tapes and paper for backups/restores and printing to ensure timely data backups and report generation for the IT department and internal business units (AR, AP, Accounting, Sales, etc) •Performs routine tasks by using cleaning tapes and supplies to maintain and keep computer equipment and their peripherals at optimal performance for the IT department. •Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems for associates by reviewing job logs, manuals or via the Internet. •Receives and responds to inbound telephone calls, email, help desk tickets and personnel requests for technical support from associates. . •Document new IT operational procedures or update-outdated procedures assigned to the IT Operations department using Microsoft Office products such as Word and/or Excel. •Working within a ticketing system responding and working with various departments to resolve •Other duties may be assigned as directed by management
