Hello All, It seems as though a woman by the name of Lorraine White has jumped the gun and created a rather unsavoury vibe in relation to an incident that occurred last Thursday at The Northshore Tavern. It has been alleged that Leigh publicly insulted a mentally handicapped gentleman from the stage. Here’s a few facts for you all to consider. Number One - This man was NOT mentally handicapped. He was drunk and stoned. I spoke to him after the first set for the entire break and he seemed nice enough although pretty out of it. He expressed how he was enjoying the band and loved the music and that he also was a musician. A bass player. He also told me how smashed he was after smoking dope and getting drunk before the show. This is how he liked to listen to live music. Number Two - Leigh had politely asked this gentleman (off mic) on more than one occasion to stop filming while we were playing and in particular to stop putting the camera right into Leigh’s face while he was trying to play. Number Three - After the second set, this gentleman came up to me and said that now he was told not to film, it only made him want to do it more which he made a point of doing during the next set. Number Four - It was as this point that Leigh gave him a verbal spray over the microphone as his behaviour was unacceptable. Unfortunately there were no security nearby to deal with the situation so some other people in the audience had to help get this man away from the stage. He was clearly a nuisance and needed to be escorted from the venue. With these facts in hand I hope that all this unfounded hostility towards the band can cease and perhaps even an apology from Lorraine White may be forthcoming. Nobody condones cruelty to mentally handicapped people. This post from Lorraine White is insulting and outrageous. Get your facts straight before you accuse people of such awful acts Lorraine. If you don’t like the band, that’s your right, but don’t cause trouble where there is none. I trust this clarifies this incident. Yours sincerely, Michael.
