Hello DUkes, As Karen suggested below, we are receiving more opportunities to represent DUkes and Drury University to public audiences. I have spoken with a number of you regarding our next performance (Friday, Mar. 14) to the Springfield Sister City Coalition. This is the organization that wants us to represent Springfield in Japan, Summer, 2015. This time, I have selected particular DUkesters to represent us based largely on initiative, commitment, skill and (frankly) availability. This will not necessarily be the group that travels to Japan and certainly does not preclude anyone’s involvement in future public performances. Nor should you think your involvement in DUkes requires public performances! We are, after all, a club that plays ukes and sings loudly because ukes are fun. That’s the point. If you see any of these people, please wish them well. They may just be paving your way to Japan: Spencer Thompson, Madison Morgan, Karen Baltzly, SallyFarrand, Rachel Reese, Syd Wade. And remember, somewhere someone is playing a uke!
