Hello Everyone! I wanted to say a couple of things to our group - TopicsExpress

Hello Everyone! I wanted to say a couple of things to our group regarding the reunion. I’m sorry that I cannot come up with the words to inspire people to come to this event. I wish I could because from where I sit and from the things I hear this could be our last time getting together as a group. Of course this had to happen. People move on with their lives and for some of us our time together at Fairchild gets replaced by other times of our lives and there just isn’t enough time to do everything. I understand this very clearly. Personally I’d travel to the ends of the earth to spend time with anyone with whom I served at Fairchild. For me, Fairchild was actually the beginning of my life, so my time there was special. This is where I met the friends with whom I speak every day. The kind of friends a man hopes for and is blessed to have. I shudder when I think that had I done even one small thing differently it would have changed everything. The truth is I wouldn’t change anything about it even if I could. Having said that, I’ll be at the reunion! Talking with my friends as if 35 years have not passed. Thinking of those who could not be there because they’ve passed on. My hope also is that when I’m not there that I’ll be missed, toasted and remembered. This is a vision and a promise to each other that we’ll remember our friends for as long as we can. You can count on the fact that I’ll be doing that for as long as I can. I hope it’s at a reunion with all of you. But it will happen regardless. If you can’t come we’ll miss you because it really won’t be the same without you, how could it? Thank you Barb Hannon for all the great stuff you did for the group! Thank you Cecil Samples for your tireless work on the 92nd OMS Roster. It’s a work in progress my friend. Thank you Gerry Orr for putting down the deposit for the hotel, and your unwavering support of the reunion. Thanks to Scottie for providing the music and public address system and Gary Mills for providing the needed AV equipment. Thanks to Sue Phillips for taking care of the website. You’re all great and I’ll see you in September!
