Hello Everyone, This is an update. Cynthia has been very strong these past few weeks but is now reaching closer to the day that she will need the operation. Thanks to our families and friends, we have been able to raise over half of what is needed for the transplant operation and the medical analyses. Cynthia has informed us that her sister is beginning the medical screening process to determine if she can be a donor. If everything goes well, Cynthia will have the chance to undergo surgery to save her life in time. We hope that everyone can come together and offer their support to cover the medical costs as Cynthia is a widow and a mother who will not be able to work during her recovery. A typical worker in Cynthias community in Aguascalientes earns about $200/month. It would take a worker in her community over 7 years of work to pay for her surgery, whereas it would take less than a year for a worker making minimum wage in California.
