Hello FB Friends. I recently shared a teaching on how Satan controls the mind and emotions of Christians. I thought I would share a short study on how important this teaching really is. King David was on his roof one night and saw a woman bathing across the street. Immediately, seducing spirits began to flood his mind with lustful thoughts. After discovering she was pregnant, the spirits did it again. Thoughts of fear, cover up and murder flooded his mind. The result? A nightmare for the nation of Israel. It happened again. King David had been told not to number Israel. All nations numbered their populations for many reasons, one of which was pride. One day King David was standing on a mountain overlooking the 12 tribes and thoughts started to flood his mind to number Israel. The spirits actually blocked his memory regarding the prior instructions not to do it. His servant remembered the Word of God and tried to talk him out of it. The thoughts in his mind were too strong and he forced the issue. The text actually says Satan provoked him. How did he do it? Flashcards? No; thoughts injected into the mind. The result? A nightmare for the nation of Israel. Jesus had told the disciples on several occasions about his arrest, execution, death and resurrection. They were poor listeners. One day He was reminding them again and Peter pulled him aside. In the Greek text is reveals that he actually forcefully took Him aside. Peter began to rebuke the Lord and Jesus actually responded to Satan. He knew it was not Peter talking but a spirit that had hijacked his mind. The spirits cannot control the portion of your mind that you are using for your own purposes. He cannot stop human free will. The only way they can hijack the mind, like they did David and Peter, is if they accept and agree with demonic thoughts. The good news? Both David and Peter later did renew their minds and ended up wonderful, just like you will. If the mind is renewed on the Word of God, prayer, meditation and worship the devil loses control over the child of God and the Holy Spirit changes the person from just being a Christian like everybody else, into a Disciple and a spiritual powerhouse.
