Hello, Facebook Friends!! I havent posted anything since Brandon was about 2 1/2, (hes 7 now) so its been a LONG time. But something happened to my family today that I just have to share. We were traveling to my moms house in Harvest, Alabama when we experienced some serious car trouble . An 18-wheeler lost a big piece of metal that Chris did not see till it was too late and we hit it. All of a sudden there was smoke coming out of the back of our van. Another 18-wheeler ( hauling for Hobby Lobby, might I add:) pulled on the side of us and signaled to pull over. All of this while going 70/80 mph. So we pull over and gas is pouring out the bottom of the van. The metal had punctured our fuel tank and ripped something else off. So I hurry and get the kids out, poor Chris hops out in his crutches, and the Hobby Lobby man pulls off in front of us and grabs his fire extinguisher just in case. He stays till the police come. A state trooper comes and lets us sit in his car. I get off the phone with road side assistance ( State Farm is awesome) and go over to the police car. I sit down, and start crying, probably out of shock. And do you know what I see in his passenger side door? Not 1, but 2 Bibles. And he quotes Romans 8:28 to me! I have heard that Scripture countless times, about God working all things together for good for those who love Him. But let me tell you, when you are sitting on the side of the road in shock about your family almost being severely injured or dead, Gods Word is like water in a dry desert and brings immeasurable and incomprehensible peace. And now as Im safely at my moms house reflecting over this crazy days events, I am in awe how God truly comes to our rescue and about how he positions his children ( whether they know each other or not) to be there for each other. Only our Big God can put strangers in just the right place at just the right time. Ol Bessie ( my van) may not make it out of this, but my faith has been strengthened and I know I serve a BIG GOD! Psalm 91:14-16
