Hello Facebook Friends and Family: We, the Maryland Ravens, truly realize that programs for the physically challenged contribute to the spirit, energy, and independence of the athletes. With your support, we can continue providing unique opportunities that enhance the athletic experience of our physically challenged athletes and the educational experience of the students at schools throughout Maryland. The Maryland Ravens are excited to see what 2014 brings for our wheelchair athletes. In our local schools, our athletes play an instrumental role demonstrating that you can achieve your goals (if they are attainable) despite life’s physical and/or mental challenges. On the court, our athletes demonstrate that each physically challenge participant possesses athletic ability. As the cost of adaptive equipment (i.e., wheelchairs, tires, inner tubes, spokes, spoke protectors, etc.), gasoline, and other program costs continue to rise, so does the cost of funding small successful nonprofit organizations like Maryland Ravens, Inc. To meet this financial challenge, the Maryland Ravens rely heavily on gifts from grants, individuals, and organizations to support our athletic program, abilities awareness program, and other operational costs.
