Hello Friends, Have you heard of the cognitive dissonance phenomena, This describes very clearly what has been happing in Brampton lately. Here is the principal of the Phenomena. Good people can believe a lie and do bad things as a group as long as they maintain an emotional loyalty to the group and the person telling the lie. The second they question the lie, they become stressed in conscience because they feel disloyal, like they are betraying the tribe. Betrayal of the tribe is a fundamental no-no in human culture. The rare person with integrity will resolve the stress by changing sides and embracing the truth regardless of consequences to self or tribe. The most common response is to reject the information and the person who gave it and caused the stress. They will not betray the tribe no matter how dysfunctional its operations. The reason I am sending you this information is because the Mayor is countining on this Phenomena to get re-elected. You may be interested to know that Fennell has been building up a network of supporters for a number of years through the efforts of her volanteer group called Catch the Spirit. I have heard that this group has signed up over 30,000 members for the mayor and they will likely be loyal to her regardless of what she has done. My concern is that there are too many people running for the Mayors position which will fragment the vote and may help Fennell get re-elected. John.
