Hello Friends! I know that it is only August, but I am thinking about Christmas. All those that will be less fortunate at Christmas time. I am starting Project Smile. My goal is to provide something to at least everyone in the salvation army shelter at Christmas time. Something of their own. I dont think we realize what we take for granted every day....toothbrushes, deodorant, a nice smelling body wash, warm socks on a cold day, a blanket, a favorite doll or stuffed animal that may be comfort to a small child who has to bounce place to place. And food....my heart aches at the amount of people that will not be able to afford a Christmas dinner or a simple toy to make a kiddos day. SO now that you know WHY....lets get to HOW! I am starting to collect toys, clothes, personal items, and items for food baskets. This is where YOU come in. I need help to make this big. Like I said, my goal is the shelter, but I would love to get enough to stretch it even farther and drop a good basket complete with everything to make Christmas dinner on an unsuspecting families doorstep. I have a list of things that the shelter needs on top of what I would like to do for the individuals. I am also in search of a Santa to go to the shelter with me a couple of weeks before Christmas. Mr. Deeds has opened so many hearts in the Cedar Valley that I have no doubt that Project Smile will be in full force and so incredibly awesome! Keep in mind...clothes and toys do not have to be new. I will be accepting donations at Two 4 Tots, but will also be willing to pick up donations. Thank You!
