Hello Friends We need your help. As you may know, the Advisory - TopicsExpress

Hello Friends We need your help. As you may know, the Advisory Panel to the Genesee Co Board of Commissioners has already presented 5 proposals to date that are very easy to implement. Not only will they save lives, they will also save money and generate revenue for the county. Most of these things are simple, no-cost solutions and it makes no sense to not get moving on them. SO, I am asking that you send an email to all 9 commissioners to ask them to do precisely that. I’m making this as easy as possible. Below, you will find 5 email statements and you can simply copy and paste one and then send it along. Below that, you will see the email contact info for every commissioner. If you would like to read the actual proposals for yourself, you will find them on the this page or on the web at gracetheevolution/ You have no idea how much we appreciate your support in helping us light a fire under the commissioners so we can begin to move forward. All of our proposals are best practices used successfully by other shelters in the state and around the country and it CAN be done in Genesee County if those in charge simply decide to do so. SAMPLE EMAILS Genesee County Commissioners, I am a voter from (city) and I am writing to tell you how important it is to me to see the recommended changes presented by the Advisory Panel implemented. I am an animal lover and I find the current conditions and extremely high euthanasia rate at Genesee County Animal Control heartbreaking. I believe that when you have the tools to do better, you must. Ignoring the no-cost common sense solutions that have been brought forth from the hard work of county residents makes no sense. Please take these easy, no cost steps to implement these changes prior to the July 11 Advisory Panel meeting. Thank you, Name, city Genesee County Commissioners, I’m writing today to express my strong desire to see positive changes at Genesee Animal Control. I have been following the efforts of the volunteer Advisory Panel, and I feel the recommendations that have been made are clearly in the best interest of the animals and the shelter itself. I am disappointed that we have not seen any forward motion on any of these. At the June 13 Advisory Panel meeting, Commissioner Mark Young indicated that these items were being worked on and he hoped we would be hearing something soon. I urge you to move forward with these changes that are so desperately needed. The next Advisory Panel meeting is on July 11. It would be wonderful to be able to celebrate some forward motion on that day. Thank you, Name, city Genesee County Commissioners, I am an animal lover and I find the conditions at Genesee County Animal Control and the extremely high euthanasia rate both heartbreaking and embarrassing. For the past several months, the Advisory Panel has been doing their part and the public has been doing their part; now we are looking to you to do your part. The recommendations made so far will improve the public perception of Genesee County Animal Control and its staff, increase adoptions revenue to the shelter, and reduce costs. While we wait to move forward, dozens of animals die every week. Please move forward on the recommended changes immediately! Thank you, Name, city Genesee County Commissioners, The humane treatment of our county’s homeless pets is very important to me. I have been so encouraged to see the Advisory Panel and the public coming together to present ideas that will save animals and save money for our county. It is extremely disheartening that our elected officials have taken no steps to implement any of them. Please, give this good work the attention it deserves and move forward on all of the recommendations as soon as possible. The next Advisory Panel meeting is scheduled for July 11 and the public will be so disappointed if nothing has been acted on. Thank you, Name, city Genesee County Commissioners, The recommendations that have come forth from the collaborative effort of the Advisory Panel and the public are simple and cost nothing to implement, yet the resulting changes will mean the difference of life and death to hundreds of animals. It is difficult to understand how there has been no forward movement from the Animal Control Sub Committee to implement any of them to date. This is very disappointing. I ask that you work together to move forward on all of these recommendations and give the voting public something to celebrate at the July 11 Advisory Panel meeting.
