Hello Friends and Pledgers! Here is a short piece we just did from the road for Pledge Music, check it out! Dave Mason in 30 Seconds or Less Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and founding member of Traffic, Dave Mason wrote the song “Feelin’ Alright” when he was just 19, and now that track has been covered by nearly 50 artists, including the most famous cover by Joe Cocker. Having worked with contemporaries like The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix and others, Mason truly has forged a legendary career. Now, he’s offering fans access into the making of his new release “Future’s Past” as well as his Traffic Jam Tour. Here, Mason quickly tackles our questions about his life and music. Ten years ago, you became a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. What are some other career highlights for you? DM: Playing and recording with Hendrix, McCartney, Harrison, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and other legends. And still being able to go out to play live! It’s been several years since your last solo project. What has taken up your time musically in those years? DM: Touring and writing. I love it. How did you pick out some of the personal exclusives you’re offering fans? Are any of them hard to part with? DM: They all have memories of certain people and places. Yes, there is a part of me that wants to hang on to them, but there’s a bigger part that wants to share them. You’ve offered several signature hats. Do you still have some left in your closet at home? DM: I love hats and have quite a few left in my closet. And I’m sure I’ll still be accumulating a few here in the future. We’d love to hear more about the songs on “Future’s Past. What’s behind the title? DM: Some of the songs have been with me for a very long time. But like anything you love, it continues to hold my attention and manifests in new and different ways all the time. You mentioned in your campaign video that you hope to see fans on the road. How much will you be touring later this year? DM: We are touring most of the year, and new dates are pouring in all the time.
