Hello Google Developer Group Aachen Community, We have a Hackathon and a talk by Microsoft coming up in two weeks to which we want to invite you :) Please register as soon as possible to make our planning easier. Talk by guests from the US: “Windows Telemetry: improving software quality and collecting usage data on a worldwide scale” Microsoft and Windows use telemetry collected from over a billion machines worldwide to improve software quality and to design new features. This talk explores the challenges when managing these data streams and how Microsoft uses telemetry to improve reliability, performance, and usability of both the operating system as well as applications. About the speaker: Stephan Doll is a development lead at Microsoft and works on telemetry and recovery features. He previously worked both in big (IBM) and small startup companies, working on device and file system drivers for both Windows and Solaris. 2. Talk: Climbing “Mount JS”: Challenges and Lessons Learned in Developing a Single-Page App GeoSurfen, a location based game, was developed by bitstars over the last year. As key element a Web-Editor was implemented as a Single-Page App. In this talk, the speaker will briefly introduce you to the used libraries and tools, and recap some of the major challenges in developing such a JavaScript application. Philip Martzok is a software developer working at bitstars. During the last year, he engaged intensively with web development and became a JavaScript enthusiast. He is currently doing his master in computer science and founding a start-up with some colleagues. Both talks will be in English
