Hello, I have a question and wanted to see if anyone could offer any advice. I am a teacher but resigned and now homeschool via virtual online public school my daughter who just turned 9 and is in the 3rd grade. She has severe dyslexia and wasnt reading at the beginning of the year. She is now up to a middle to end of first grade level but the online academy is suggesting retention. Actually, retention has been recommended every year of school since Kinder. She also has ADHD and possible ODD. She has come up about 6 reading levels so far this year being home with me and I feel that holding her back would be a horrible mistake. Mind you, she is about a head length taller than most kids her age already and is very mature socially. Her confidence has been crushed already over the first couple of years of school and any mention of retention brings her to hysterics. Everyday is a battle of wills with her but I know its paying off. Should I continue online public school or venture out on my own with her? Thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lailah
