Hello IHS 83, Spring is here, and the IHS Alumni Association - TopicsExpress

Hello IHS 83, Spring is here, and the IHS Alumni Association has a lot of great things in the works for the coming months! Here is an update on alumni events, campaigns and IHS news: Sr. Mary Grace Walsh, Superintendent of Schools announced new leadership positions in the Diocese and at Immaculate High School last week. I know that you join me in wishing Kathleen Casey continued success in her new role as Assistant Superintendent of Schools, and thanks her for vision and dedication to Immaculate since 2008. We are excited to welcome Mary Maloney, current principal of St. Rose School, as the new president of Immaculate HIgh School. This years Athletic Hall of Fame inductees have been announced. The 2014 inductees include Cicely Jette 92 (softball), Joe Mohn 02 (XC and track & field), Joe Rios 81 (baseball), Coach Charlie Zarcone (golf), and the 76 boys basketball team (1st state champions in IHSs history). All are welcome to join us at the Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury on Saturday, May 10th at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $50 per person and reservations can be made online before April 26th on our website at immaculatehs.org/athletics. We hope to see some of you there! The cast and crew of this years spring musical, Les Miserables, are working hard to prepare for their upcoming performances April 24-26th. There will be a Les Miserables Alumni Reception from 6-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th in the main office reception area just prior to the 7:00 p.m. performance. Punch and light appetizers will be served. Spread the word! Its going to be a great show and a fun time to catch up with fellow alumni. If you are able to attend the reception, please RSVP via email to [email protected]. It will help give IHS an idea as to the numbers for planning purposes, but if you dont get a chance to RSVP just come! Tickets for the performance can be purchased ahead of time at immaculatehs.org/finearts. The Immaculate Fund campaign is in its final months for this year. Donations to the Immaculate Fund can be made online at immaculatehs.org/giving. Thank you for your support! IHS alumni truly do make a difference. We are spreading all of the good news about IHS from big enrollment increases to great athletic news from our winter sports team, and so much more, on social media. Please take a moment to invite friends to like the Immaculate High School page on Facebook so that they can hear all of the latest about IHS today and about alumni happenings. If you, or anyone you know, are interested in hosting a Regional Alumni Reception (i.e.; NYC, Chicago, Boston, D.C., Florida, etc.), please let IHS know and they can help spread the word. We were excited to see the Class of 66 organizing a gathering in Florida for this upcoming weekend, and it would be great to extend that 1983 Mustang spirit among our classmates across the map! IHS recently published their 3rd edition of the monthly alumni newsletter titled, The Mustang Tradition. It is chock full of information regarding alumni events, alumni updates, and IHS happenings today. If you have suggestions for the e-newsletter, please send them in via email to Denise Suarez [email protected]. Also, if you could take a minute to write a brief 2-4 sentence testimonial as to your experience at IHS, it would be greatly appreciated. To view past editions, please visit immaculatehs.org/alumni. I hope everyone has a great Easter season and enjoyable Spring! Cheers! Joe
