Hello. New guy from Olympia here. So, Im new to the group and also new to the Third Gen community. I started looking for an IROC a couple of weeks ago and just bought one this past Saturday. My requirements were 350, AT, T-tops, and preferably blue ext with gray int. I found the one I now own on Craigslist in Clarkston, WA. It was a little over 350 miles away so it turned into a 15 hour day for my son and I after driving there, test drive, a little haggling, loading the car onto my trailer and then driving home. It has a couple of issues but overall its a great car. I need to replace a weather seal on the drivers door and I just got a code 36 so I need to address that. It was repainted about a year ago so its missing the IROC-Z door decals and missing the back bumper emblems. The price was great so Im fine with putting a little more money into her. My background or specialty is in car audio fabrication. Ive been working in the industry professionally since 1991. Ive owned a couple of car audio shops over the years and decided to sell my last shop about 4 months ago and retire. Im only 46 but Ive already retired from a 20+ year military career and decided I wanted more free time to enjoy life. I now work part time at an awesome shop in Lacey, WA. Audio Northwest is a great group of guys and have been in business for a long time. One of the main reasons for buying this car is to do an old school car audio sound quality demo build. Im not into cramming a bunch of subs into a car and rattling my way down the road. Thats not music in my opinion. My idea of a quality system is to try and replicate the music in the most lifelike and realistic way possible. I have big plans for this car and will be doing the work over the winter to be ready for next years car audio competition season. Ill be sure to post pics as the build progresses. I have plans to also come out to as many club/group meets as I can. Thanks again for the add to the group!
