Hello. The goal of this post is to 1) Get the word out that in January of 2015 I will be hiring 2) Explain the affect your support of my State Farm business has had on this town, and to keep encouraging everyone to support all our local businesses as we all benefit when that happens!! Due to your support of our State Farm business, in 2013 I was able to purchase a home in Beecher. In 2014 I moved out of that home and rented it out to one of my employees who moved to Beecher from Calumet City. Also in 2014 one of my employees moved from Munster Indiana to Beecher. The point of this is due to your support of our State Farm business Beecher now has three additional families living here. These families now buy groceries in Beecher, get gas in Beecher, and spend their money at other Beecher businesses! I am sure all of us wish our tax bill was less. A large part of municipalities tax revenues come from businesses and property taxes on home owners. In Theory the more local businesses that chip in on tax revenue the less the homeowners would have to chip in. Due to your support of our State Farm business we were in a position to purchase the building on Dixie Highway and Church. The buildings value will increase when it becomes an occupied building as opposed to vacant eye soar. An increase to the value of that building means higher taxes on the building! To close this topic out I would again like to thank everyone for your local support. I understand there will ALWAYS be insurance companies out there that may be $10-$15 less a month than State Farm, so thank you for keeping it local! I am obviously not the only local company that benefits by everyone keeping their money in Beecher, we all know it’s hard to ignore the Wal Mart adds and instead go to Walt’s where it may end up costing us an additional $10-$15 on our grocery bill, but I hope this gave insight to how Beecher wins when we all keep our money within the 60401 zip code!!!! Now on to the next topic. I am hiring effective 01-01-2015. I am hiring with a goal in mind. State Farm gives the 18,400 agents in this country a ranking by judging us on 6 categories. 1) car insurance 2) fire insurance: home, renters, business 3) life insurance 4) health insurance and 5) Banking: cd’s car loans, credit cards, checking accounts etc 6) a category I can not name on facebook due to SEC Regulations. Per the August rankings our office ranked 172 out of 18,400. We think by the end of the year we could crack the top 100. Our goal for 2015 is to be in the top 50 out of the country’s 18,400 agents, but to do that we need to hire at least one more employee to help with bringing on new business. There are definitely some aspects of the new position that some may view as less than desirable and I would like to explain those first. 1) The end time of the new position will be 8pm Monday – Thursday and 5pm on Friday. 2) Working every other Saturday will be required. 3) Looking for someone who can work 60 hours a week. 4) the job will be 100% sales—the amount of time spent in the office will be limited to meeting with the new clients you sign up—the rest of the time will be spend outside of the office generating new leads. The job presents two different career paths 1) I have had one employee who worked with me for three years and then State Farm selected him to open his own office in Itasca Illinois up by Schaumburg. I have another employee working for me now, who I feel in the next year or two will also get selected to open his own State Farm office. So the first career path would be one to where your end goal would be opening your own State Farm office. 2) I have two employees, one who graduated from NIU and one who Graduated from UIC who intend to make a career out of being a team member in my office. So that would be the second career path, being a long term team member in my office. Common Questions 1) What does it pay?: If successfully pay would end up being $40,000-$50,000 a year. If unsuccessful pay would not be more than minimum wage. Pay is tied in LARGE PART to actual results. If someone was to get their own State Farm office the income potential is unlimited. Some of the best State Farm agents make over $500,000 a year! 2) Do I need experience?: No, only one out of my 4 employees came to me with experience 3) Will I need to get licenses: Yes you will have to be licenses to sell Car, Home Life, Health insurance before you start working here If you are not in the market for a new job please forward this on to anyone that meets the following criteria. 1) Someone graduating college in December 2) Someone who is so engaging they make you smile every time you talk to them 3) Someone who you have heard say “I want to own my own business” 4) Someone who currently works 2 or 3 jobs and you have always associational their name with “hard worker” 5) Someone who feels their current job is not letting them live up to their full potential. Thank you all for your time and help!!
