Hello Union Park Gardens Residents - Vernon Green from the Woodlawn Trustees has contacted us as well as other neighboring communities to attend a meeting to discuss their plans for "The Flats". They hope to tear down the existing buildings and re-build new brick structures. It will be a 12 year plan and it will certainly be an improvement and provided safer, up-to-date housing for their residents. "The Flats" were originally built over a 12 year period starting in 1902. The Woodlawn Trustees has managed the rental properties since the beginning. An informational meeting has been set up for Monday July 22nd, so that Woodlawn can share its dream for the Flats. In order to accommodate the multiple civic organizations, we have set the start time for 5:15 p.m. Vernon Green will be bringing to the meeting various display boards and architectural drawings for all of us to see. He is looking for feedback from the neighboring communities. Please stop by to view the displays, ask questions, and provide feedback.
