Hello Zane I just wanted to know if you or any of your readers knew anything about Achalasia? I started having trouble swallowing solid foods back in June and it had gotten a little better until September when it just got really bad. I have been to 3 GI specialist and the ear, nose and throat doctor, my last appointment the doctor was trying to say I have a early stage of the motility disorder called Achalasia. He said I couldnt get any treatments or surgery because It was too early in the stage, it is very challenging only being able to eat liquid foods and I just dont know what to do at this point. MY RESPONSE: Never heard of it but I will be researching it now. Are you taking any medications for something else, or any kind of diet pills? The reason that I am asking is because I know that some medications can have swallowing difficulties are a side effect and I had that happen to me briefly when I was on some medication. I went to an ear, nose, and throat doctor and all but once I stopped taking that medication, it went away. But I am sure your doctor probably asked you about that already. Lets see what others have to say. I hope it all works out because a liquid diet can lead to other issues.
