Hello all, Im new to the this page and have been drinking craft - TopicsExpress

Hello all, Im new to the this page and have been drinking craft beer since high school ;). Im also a homebrewer who brews all grain recipes in 10 gal. batches. Most of the beers I review will be from my region here in the Northeast. I am an amateur reviewer, and both my wife and I are a hop heads. Yesterday, as we do almost every Sunday now, my wife and I headed out to the Malted Barley, Westerly, RI for a flight, and a pint. If your in this neck of the woods I strongly suggest stopping in for a pint, or flight, and one of their famed pretzel sandwiches. Also, two of my favorite micro / nano breweries in our area worth a visit are Grey Sail Brewing, RI, and Beerds Brewing, CT. From left to right on the flight we have Weyerbachers Double Simcoe DAIPA, Strong at 9% the ABV is welcome with me. This beer has pleasant piny, and light citrus notes with a beautiful, clear dark golden color, and ample carbonation. Second is Long Trails Limbo IPA, at 7.5% ABV its quite strong, for a beer that has the potential to go down the trap quick. It has a citrusy, fruity nose, with plenty of grapefruit, and other citrus flavors, the ABV is Masked well in this IPA. This is my favorite Long Trail offering yet, its light in color and body, and the clarity is excellent. Third on the flight was Arrogant Bastard, it was actually my first tasting of this American Strong Ale. I will not review it here as Im sure many have had it already, and it was likely reviewed also. I will just say I liked it a lot, it had a nice hop profile, and I ordered a pint after the flight was consumed. Fourth on the flight is the Alagash White. This take on a traditional Belgian Wheat beer has delicious clove, coriander, and spicy peppery notes as do most Belgians. As you can see it pours quite cloudy ( standard for most wheat beers) is light golden in color, and has seemingly never ending effervescence, as I would expect from a Belgian. I delicious beer if your a Belgian flavor fan. In hand is Berkshire Brewings Steel Rail APA. At 5.3% ABV this is a decent session beer for me, it has a slightly cloudy golden color, and a medium body. This beer has very light citrus notes up front but a whopping fresh doughy bread flavor on the back end which takes you by surprise. The second photo is a picture of my home brewed Extra Strong Bitter. This beer came out delicious at 6.5% ABV it only takes a few to knock you out. It has a nice fruity nose, and subtle doughy bread tastes on the back end, and is dark amber in color. I lightly carbonated it at about 11psi to insure a traditional English pub level of carbonation. Clarity is slightly cloudy.
