Hello all my FBers! As many of you already know, I started a new job last week, which obliviously meant I immediately had to go shopping to celebrate my new position and (of course) fabulousness! Hehe As I was wrapping up my weekend-long shopping spree, and scoring a bunch of ‘wins’ at Macy’s (smile), it dawned on me that I really should give back to those less fortunate, especially since God has given me so much. So I decided for every $1 I spent on myself I would match that by half ($0.50) and donate the money to a charity. Then I took it a step further and decided to implement this every month! Moving forward (until I decide to adjust the parameters) any extra money I spend on myself (emphasis on extra!), I will match half of that money to a charity. Extras are defined as manis/pedis, leisure shopping, dining out, extracurricular activities, etc.). Hoping to encourage others and to generate some online interaction, I’m going to create a poll each month so everyone can vote where the money should go. I’ll choose three or four charities that I find valuable, and then I’ll let you vote on which one should receive the money! Let’s see how this pans out! Details to come…
