Hello beautiful people, I hope you are all well and waxing the light fantastic. I must apologise for being ‘missing in action’ over the past few weeks. I am reliably informed by various social media bigwigs that one of the first rules of Facebook is to never share personal stuff on a business page, but bear with me. I recently said goodbye to the last of my grandparents and as a result I have been focusing on life outside of the waxpot for a bit. My grandparents were an inspiration to me and my sister: hard workers with big hearts who encouraged us to face life with determination and laughter in equal measures. In fact, I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing today without their help and encouragement. They were beside me at every wobbly twirl of the spatula, supporting my initial move from a job I hated and despaired in, with wise words through beauty college and my first terrifying moments setting up in business, to the eventual establishment of the training academy and the long hours spent trying to make it all work. They were proud of me and always there for me, even when I slipped up a few times along the way, and I feel truly privileged to call myself their grandson. Grandparents are awesome. If you are lucky enough to still have yours and they rock: tell them. If you are a grandparent yourself: I salute you. Normal service will be resumed next week. Wax on.
