Hello everybody! I hope you had a wuvely weekend, I know I did! BOL! It was very hot but I managed to stay cool most of the time AND I’ve discovered an extra bonus in hot days! When it’s cooler, I have my second walk in the afternoon with Mummy BUT when it’s hot, I have my second walk in the evening with BOTH Mummy and Daddy! I’ve been a good girl through the weekend, but I did get into a little mischief on Saturday morning. Mummy had put the towels she wanted to wash on the landing, while she had a shower and then dressed. Daddy came down to let me out so I could go to the toilet and then left the door open so I could go wherever I wanted to in the house. While Mummy was distracted, I took one of the towels and hid it in the front bedroom! It was sooooo funny when Mummy had to look for it! I think I gave the game away, though, by standing in the doorway! I’ll practise this for future and better attempts! It was too hot for me to go out, like I usually do, with Mummy and Daddy on Saturday afternoon, but I didn’t mind staying at home. At least, I could stay cool here; it would have been VERY uncomfortable for me in the heat! They weren’t out as long as they would have been if I’d been with them and they brought me home a new bag of rawhide chews, which made it all worthwhile! The sun hasn’t appeared yet today, but it’s still very hot and I don’t think it will be long before it peeps through the clouds. It was a bit misty when Mummy and I went out for our walk this morning and the grass was all wet with dew. I didn’t get wet though as I kept out of the long grass, now. Since I got that tick on me, I’ve been reluctant to go in the long grass or under hedgerows! Mummy and Daddy have been surprised by that; they didn’t think I’d realise what had happened but I’m not stupid! Bol! Yukky things! Ugh! We didn’t see any people this morning, except our next door neighbour, who patted me and called me ‘a lovely girl’. He’s right about that! Bol! The horses were in the field and Mummy and I said hello to them. I only saw ONE cat, in the distance and tried to catch up with it before it went into its garden! Hmmppph – I didn’t get anywhere near it! One good thing – we missed the ‘Skip Monster’! I saw it roar by on the main road before we reached that point in our walk AND the ‘Bus Monster’ also went by before we got to that point, so I was happy to carry on our walk as far as the bridge! We watched a mummy duck and her ducklings swimming on the river and saw the mummy swan further up the tow path. We haven’t seen if she’s got her cygnets... she must have by now, but the pathway needs cutting so we shall wait to walk along the tow path until that’s been done. I like it by the river even though there are things that I’ve never seen before to get used to... Maybe, when it’s not quite so hot, we shall do the full river walk again! Well, my dear furiends and friends, I shall have to stop barking here. Mummy has a busy week ahead so she’s told me to keep to the point, as I do have a little bit of a habit of barking on and on! BOL! I’m looking forward to hearing all your comments and I’ll be back later! Until then, keep those tails wagging! Kisses and licks, Brenna
