Hello everyone! Cold enough for you? heh heh heh. As many of you - TopicsExpress

Hello everyone! Cold enough for you? heh heh heh. As many of you know and our new group members will soon find out, I have a deep and profound love of editing.... no no, its true. What you may not know, is that there was a good reason for a lot of my experimental edits. I was looking for that perfect editing partner to work with Photoshop. Guess what? There are no perfect plugins for Photoshop/Lightroom. What there are, are some very fine products. To date, I have purchased several products. In no order of preference they are: Alien Skin Exposure 7, Alien Skin Snap Art, OnOnes Perfect Photo Suite 9, Googles Nik Collection, and most of what Topaz produces (chiefly, Impressions, Glow, ReStyle, Remask, Dejpeg, B&W effects, Adjust.) I also have well over 200 Lightroom Presets and dozens of Photoshop actions. Each one of these products come with their own merits, they all work as advertised, they all work seamlessly with Photoshop/Lightroom and they allow me to minutely adjust presets allowing me complete control over the process. Each of the products even work well with each other. It is not unusual for me to have a workflow like this: Lightroom-Photoshop-Perfect Photosuite-Exposure 7 and Impressions. I naturally have a favorite and in the hope it saves you money, time and frustration, my recommendation is Topaz. Topaz is a beautifully crafted product that allows for total user control (you do not have to accept what the preset recommends, nor have I ever done that). For those of you are a bit heavy handed and love drama in your photos, Topaz does a great job of preventing the dread artifact halos found in trees, hair and horizon lines. The winning feature for Topaz is....drum roll..... that once you buy it, thats it. No upgrades that need to be purchased in the future, upgrades are perpetually free forever..... . Topaz also has 30 day free trials, which I recommend before purchasing to ensure it works with you PC/Mac Topaz works in stand alone, I would prefer if it had an interface like OnOne Perfect Photosuite has, which allows me to move a photo from sub-product to sub-product with a button click. Topaz has that as well, but it needs to be purchased separately and to be honest, i dont mind moving from product to product from within Lightroom/Photoshop. The other products I mentioned earlier are excellent as well, but to be honest, when I started using Topaz, I stopped using everything else. My two cents, do with it what you will :) topazlabs/
