Hello everyone! Happy autumn weather to all of you. This is a follow up post about my experience hosting my first ever raffle. Im hosting a raffle for a new short story book that I published five days ago. To generate buzz about the book I started the raffle on the 10th and it ends tomorrow. I used rafflecopter and I didnt pay to have any upgrades. I really wanted to emphasize that I was giving away a short story (68 paged book) and especially emphasize that this was a companion story, not an official sequel in my Shinobi 7 Series. Alright, so I advertised on two sites, Facebook and Goodreads. I posted in my facebook groups but instead of spamming them all with the same post, I staggered each one and made sure to make each one different. I got great feedback from Facebook, thankfully. Goodreads, not so much. Perhaps Id have a different result if I was hosting a GR giveaway, Im not sure. I dont have the best of luck on that site and to be honest, I didnt try to advertise it as much as I did on Facebook. That was how I advertised online. I also printed out colored fliers with my book cover on it and advertising the raffle. I put the fliers up on the bulletin boards of my local libraries, book stores, and a few thrift stores that sold books as well. I got some entries that way, which is great because if someone local wins, I wont have to pay much shipping. Lol. Anyway, thats my update. Maybe the next time around Ill have bookmarks to giveaway as well and more sites to advertise on.
